How can tourism in rural areas in Hessen be strengthened?

Since 2015 EMBASSY supports the Hessian Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection as well as the HA Hessen Agentur in strengthening tourism in rural areas.

How the federal state of Hessen is strategically repositioning tourism in rural areas.

EMBASSY conceived and moderated a participatory process from 2019 to 2020 to develop the strategy for tourism in rural areas in Hessen. In addition to representatives from two Hessian ministries, experts from tourism, hospitality, administration, numerous professional associations and nature parks were involved, whose expertise was incorporated into the strategy development. The result is the strategy paper »Hessen. Land. Tourismus.« It takes a close look at what rural tourism in Hessen has to date, defines existing development potential and makes recommendations for the future.

How to raise awareness of country specific construction and regional cuisine.

In summer 2018 EMBASSY conceived, realized and designed a series of events for tourism service providers in gastronomy and accommodation in different regions of Hessen for the Hessian Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection as well as the HA Hessen Agentur. During the events, topics such as »regionalism«, »nature experiences«, »enjoyment« and »sustainability« were combined with high-quality tourism offers and thus the understanding for the importance of quality and regionalism was created.

How a workshop roadshow qualitatively develops tourism in rural areas in Hessen.

For the Hessian Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection, Agriculture and Consumer Protection EMBASSY brought the profile topic »Nature and Country Experience« to life in 15 workshops in the Hessian tourism destinations. The participatory events brought together the local stakeholders, the strategic orientation of the state and the potentials in terms of natural space, infrastructure and services. In the eleven (now ten) Hessian destinations, concrete tourism offers within the profile theme could thus be developed. In addition, the regional identity was consolidated and the awareness of the regional characteristics and strengths was intensified.
